Begin Early Voting Turnout

This is the weak early voting begins in earnest, with early voting satellite locations opening on Monday. Especially for Republicans, who are wary of voting early by mail but have started to embrace voting early in person.

Field activities need to shift to focus entirely on voter turnout (GOTV). All volunteer and field staff time should be spent ensuring every single one of your voters casts their ballot. Your target universe is narrow, simply your identified supporters. The biggest early voting days are the first day, the first weekend, and the final 3-4 days of the early voting period. Plan your activities accordingly.

Your paid outreach efforts will need to accomplish two things during this period. You’re not done with the Persuasion Phase, in fact, this week more voters will (finally) be paying attention and you must continue to get your strong contrast in front of them. Meanwhile, your paid outreach needs to supplement your turnout efforts. By now you should have developed highly targeted lists, which will be helpful during this week as you attempt to balance these two priorities.

Finally, federal candidates, make sure you get your pre-election campaign finance report filed by the Thursday deadline (3/7/24).
